Mutton Kadai


Mutton Kadai - This recipe takes at least 1.30hr cooking. You can also pressure cook it but i prefer to cook the whole process in a kadai so that the taste enhances and mutton will be juicy along with the gravy.

Tomato Thokku Stove top

Thakkali thokku - It is an excellent side dish for rice, idly, dosa and chapati. you can refrigerate it for a week. We used to go for a picnic twice in a year during my childhood days. My mom prepare this thokku along with idly, chapati during the trip as we can't expect home food while travelling. It stays good for 3 to 4 days without refrigerate.

Mushroom Masala using Madras curry powder

Recently bought madras curry powder from store and really it helps a lot because adding this powder alone is enough. No need to add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, cinnamon, bay leaf separately.

Inipu Paniyaram/ Sweet Paniyaram

Sweet paniyaram is kid's favourite evening snack. It gives excellent taste if palm jaggery is used. We can prepare this paniyaram immediately after grinding the batter.

Mutton Liver Fry/ Eeral Fry

Liver fry is a popular dish in southern part of Tamilnadu. It is an excellent source of dietary iron. The original recipe calls for strong flavour of spices, inorder to make it milder i slightly incorporated it. This dish goes well with rasam saadham.

Baby potato Roast

Baby potato roast goes well with curd rice and sambar rice. Try to roast it in iron kadai so that it'll get roasted uniformly and enhance the taste too. My kid love the color and texture of these small potatoes.

Mutton Ezhumbu kulambu

While planning for chukka or peratal for lunch, i just ask the seller to separate flush and bones from the mutton and i don't want to waste the bones. Hence i'll get it separately and use it in either soup or kuzhambu. Let's see how to prepare kuzhambu with only mutton ezhumbu.

Keerai Kootu/ Spinach Kootu

Spinach has lots of nutritional benefits. It is necessary to take spinach daily or at least thrice in a week. I had already posted keerai poriyal and kadayal recipes. Today i'ld like to share keerai kootu with moong dal and coconut.

Mangai sambar/ Raw mango sambar

Mangai sambar is my favourite one which goes well with rice and i love to have it with dosa too. In this recipe, i added the tempering ingredients at last as it'll enhance the taste of the sambar.

Kothamalli thokku/ Kothamalli puli

Kothamalli puli goes well with hot white rice and gingelly oil. It can be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Samai Kozhukattai / Little Millet Dumplings

Long time wish to adapt for healthy cooking and at last i tried this samai kozhukattai. I'm damn sure the taste is excellent and this snack is going to be my regular dish once a week. I served it with tomato masala i prepared for tomato rice. Hmmmm yummmyyyyy. Try with tomato or tamarind chutney.

Tomato Rice/ Thakkali Sadham


In recent days, due to hectic schedule hubby started to take lunch instead of having it in home. He prefer to have variety rice and he loves tomato rice. Since childhood tomato rice is not in my fav list.
But recently i too started liking it with potato fry or simply with egg.
