Mutton Liver Fry/ Eeral Fry

Liver fry is a popular dish in southern part of Tamilnadu. It is an excellent source of dietary iron. The original recipe calls for strong flavour of spices, inorder to make it milder i slightly incorporated it. This dish goes well with rasam saadham.

Ingredients:

   Liver Fry                                 
      Cooking Time : 20 mins
  • Liver - 300gms
  • Small Onion - 20
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Curry leaves - a sprig
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1&1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1&1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste


Cooking Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter. Then, add curry leaves and onion. Saute till it turn translucent.
  • Add green chilly, all the spice powders and salt. Saute till raw smell goes.
  • Add liver pieces and saute till browned. Add little water, cover and cook till done. Once cooked well, remove the lid and saute till the consistency reach. Stir now and then.
  • Serve hot with plain rice/ rasam rice.
