'K' is fond of sweets. After Instant pot came into my kitchen i don't want to use the other utensils. It makes my cooking more simple and ease. There is no need for baby sitting, stirring continuously or worry of scorching at the bottom. So today i tried rava kesari in the same way i do in stove top and really the flavour and taste is better than anything else. Here is the procedure:
Ingredients:
- Sooji/ Rava - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 3/4 cup
- Water - 3/4 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cashew nuts - 5 to 8
- Ghee - 4 tbsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Cardamom powder - A pinch
- Kesari powder - A Pinch
Cooking Instructions:
- Pour water and milk in the inner pot. Press yogurt and adjust till boil displays.
- In the mean time Heat a tbsp of ghee in a pan and fry cashews till golden. Remove and keep aside.
- In the same pan add sooji and roast for 3 to 4 mins. Do this process even if it is roasted sooji.
- Once boil done, turn on saute option and allow it boil for 2 to 3 mins.
- Add sooji, salt and sugar one after the other and give a gentle stir.
- Add color powder or essence if needed. (Optional)
- Add Cashews, Cardamom powder,remaining ghee and stir it. Turn off.
- Serve hot or cold.
