This recipe is a perfect side dish for idly, dosa and idiyappam. My mom used to make this dish on every sunday's.
Ingredients:
- For Grinding:
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
- Cloves - 2
- Cardamom - 2
- Star anise - 1
- Peppercorns - 1 tbsp
- Cumin - 1 tbsp
- Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp
- Green chilly - 1
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- For Gravy:
- Mutton - 1/2 kg
- Small Onion - 12 to 15
- Tomato - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 1& 1/2 tbsp
- Mint leaves - 10 to 12 leaves
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:
- Pressure cook mutton with Ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and little water for 7 whistles.
- Grind everything mentioned under for grinding.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add onion and saute till translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes.
- Add Mint leaves and tomato. Cook till mushy.
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.
- Add the ground paste and cook for 8 to 10 mins. Add little water.
- Add the mutton stock and cook for 2 to 3 mins.
- Add the mutton pieces. Cover and cook for 10 mins.
- Add Coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
- Serve hot with idly, dosa.
