Ingredients:
- Main Ingredients:
- Ash Gourd - 1 cup
- Channa dal - 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- For Grinding:
- Raw rice (pacharisi) - 1 tbsp
- Coconut - 1/4 cup
- Green chilly - 2
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- For Temper:
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 6
- Red Chilly - 1
Cooking Instructions:
- Cut the Ash gourd into small cubes.
- Heat water in a pan and add ash gourd, channa dal, turmeric powder and salt. Let it cook in medium flame for 8 to 10 mins.
- Soak raw rice in water for 15 mins.
- Grind rice, coconut, chilly and cumin.
- Add the ground paste to the ash gourd mixture. Cook till raw smell goes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Add urad dal, curry leaves and red chilly.
- Add the tempering to the cooked ash gourd mixture. Adjust salt if needed.
- Serve hot with white rice.
