Veggie fried momos

Some kids hate veggie but at the same time they love all the fried and fast foods. Both adult and kids love this snack and it is healthy too. I made this in all purpose flour. If you're looking for more healthy option yo can replace half quantity of apf with whole wheat flour. Let's see the step by step procedure:

Ingredients:

Finely chopped veggie's of your choice: (I used)

  • Onion - 1/4 cup
  • Carrot - 1/4 cup
  • Beans - 1/4 cup
  • Capsicum - 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste

For Dough:

  • Maida - 1 cup or Maida - 1/2 cup, Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Cooking Instructions:

  • Mix all the ingredients mentioned under dough and knead to a firm dough.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the veggie one after the other. Cook till the vegetables are completely done.
  • Make equal portions of dough. Roll each dough ball with centre thick and the edges thin.
  • Place 1 tsp of vegetable stuff and seal the edges of the dough. Shape it as you liked.
  • Steam it in idly steamer or pressure cooker in the same way as you steam idly.
  • I used bamboo steamer so that the flavours remain.
  • Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan. Add the steamed momos and fry for a min or two. Since it already cooked just fry for a min to turn the edges crispy.
  • Serve hot with green chutney.
