I have mentioned the health benefits of green leaves 'n' number of times. So going directly to the recipe. A simple and easy recipe which can be done within 15 mins.
Ingredients:
- Green leaves - 1 bunch
- Small onion - 10
- Tomato - 1
- Garlic - 8 cloves
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Green chilly - 1
- Toor Dal - 5 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly - 1
- Gingelly oil - 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida - a pinch
Cooking Instructions:
- Pressure cook dal with turmeric powder and 1/2 cup water for 2 whistles.
- Once pressure dies open the cooker and add washed green leaves, onion, tomato, garlic, green chilly and cumin seeds. Again pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Mash the leaves nicely.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once it splutter add red chilly and asafoetida. Add it to the mashed leaves. Adjust salt to taste.
- Serve hot with rice and papads.
