Mangai sambar is my favourite one which goes well with rice and i love to have it with dosa too. In this recipe, i added the tempering ingredients at last as it'll enhance the taste of the sambar.
Mangai Sambar
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Ingredients:
Mangai Sambar Cooking Time : 20 mins
- Small onion - 8 to 10
- Raw mango - 1
- Tamarind - 1 tbsp
- Toor dal - 1/4 cup
- Sambar powder - 2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 1 tsp
To Temper:
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly - 1
- Curry leaves - a sprig
Cooking Instructions:
- Pressure cook toor dal with a pinch of turmeric powder and asafoetida.
- Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal and fenugreek seeds. Add onion and saute for a couple of mins. Now, add mango and toor dal.
