Ven pongal is one of the regular breakfast on sunday morning during my childhood days. It served along with coconut chutney and sambar.
Ingredients:

- Raw Rice (Pacharisi) - 1 cup
- Moong Dal - 1/4 cup
- Ghee - 3 tbsp
- Pepper - 2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch (Chopped)
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Green chilly - 1
- Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions:
- Wash rice and dal together. Pressure cook it for 5 whistles with 4 cups of water and salt.
