Paal Kozhukattai


Ingredients:

   Paal Kozhukattai                              
      Cooking Time : 30 mins

  • Milk - 3/4 cup
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Coconut Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut - 1 tbsp

      For Kozhukattai:

  • Rice Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee - 1 tsp

     For Jaggery Syrup:

  • Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 1/4 cup

Cooking Instructions:

  • Mix all the ingredients mentioned for kozhukattai without lumps. 
  • Keep it in stove and stir continuously till it form into smooth dough. Cover and keep aside till slightly cooled. Then make small balls by applying ghee in hands.
  • Heat a pan, add jaggery and water. Once all the pieces melt add cardamom powder and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan, add milk and water, bring it to boil. Take 2 kozhukattai balls and mix it with water. Pour the mixture to milk. (This step is to thicken the milk slightly). 
  • Then add kozhukattai balls, cover and cook till it is done.
  • Once the balls completely cooked, add cardamom powder, jaggery syrup and coconut. Cook for another 4 to 5 mins.
  • Finally switch off the stove and add thick coconut milk. Cover and keep aside for 2 to 3 mins.
