Ingredients:
Ponnanganni keerai kootu Cooking Time : 30 mins
- Ponnanganni Keerai - 1 bunch
- Small Onion - 6 to 8
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Tomato - 1
- Green chilly - 1
- Moong Dal - 1/4 cup
- Tamarind - 1/4 tsp (Optional)
- Brinjal - 3
- Salt to taste
For Tempering:
- Small onion - 4 to 6
- Vadagam - 1 (Or)
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Hing - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly - 1
- Oil - 1 tsp
Cooking Instructions:
- Add dal, onion, garlic, tomato, brinjal and turmeric in a pressure cooker. Pressure cook it for 2 whistles with half cup of water.
- Remove the lid and add green chilly and leaves. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles. Add salt and Mash it using blender.
- Heat oil in a pan, add vadagam or tempering ingredients. Once splutter, add onion and saute till translucent. Transfer it to the leaves dal mixture.
