Ingredients:
Kothamalli Pongal Cooking Time : 30 mins
- Raw rice - 1 cup
- Moong Dal - 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Water - 4&1/2 cup
- Coconut milk - 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Ghee
For Grinding:
- Coriander leaves - 1 cup (Chopped roughly)
- Green chilly - 2
- Pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - a sprig
- Cashew nuts - 6 to 8
- Ginger - 1 inch
Cooking Instruction:
- Rinse rice and dal together. Pressure cook it along with water and milk for 4 to 5 whistles. Mash it well.
- Grind all the ingredients mentioned under for grinding.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts and fry it till golden brown. Then add pepper and cumin seeds. Now add the coriander paste and cook till the raw smell goes.
