Chicken Biryani in IP. I used slow cooker option for Dum process.
Ingredients:
Chicken Biryani Cooking Time : 2 hrs
- Chicken - 1/2 kg
- Basmati Rice - 1&1/2 cup
- Onion - 2
- Tomato - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Mint Leaves - 1 cup
- Coriander leaves - 1 cup
- Curd - 2 tbsp
- Lemon - 1
- Green chilly - 3
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Groundnut oil - 4 tbsp
For Tempering:
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
- Cloves - 4
- Cardamom - 4
- Star anise - 1
- Javothri - 1
Cooking Instructions:
- Press 'Saute' mode. Heat oil and add tempering ingredients. Add 1/3 of onion, green chillies and saute till it turn brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes. Then add remaining onion, tomato, mint and coriander leaves, curd, turmeric powder and red chilly powder all together. Cook till mushy.
- Add chicken, salt and 1/4 cup of water. Cook till chicken turns brown. Cancel 'Saute' mode. Turn on 'Manual' for 6 mins.





Did you soak your basmati rice in water earlier. what is the rice to water ratio?
