My mom mix this poriyal with rice and ghee during my childhood days and even now for 'K'. Let's see the step by step procedure:
Ingredients:
- Snake gourd - 1
- Onion - 1
- Paasi paruppu - 1 tbsp
- Coconut - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly - 1
- Oil - 2 tsp
Cooking Instructions:
- Wash and chop the snake gourd into small pieces by removing the centre part.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and red chilly.
- Add onion and saute till translucent.
- Add paasi paruppu, snake gourd, salt and little water. Cover and cook till done. Stir occasionally.
- Add coconut, stir once and remove it from stove.
- Serve with hot rice.
