Oats dosa

Are you confused and bored in making usual idly, dosa , chapathi?
Are you in short of idly dosa batter?
Are you looking for instant tiffin recipes for your guests?
Then try this instant oats rava dosa. It is crispy as normal dosa and not as tough as cooking like rava dosa. You can get a perfect dosa. It suits best with coconut chutney or onion tomato chutney.

Ingredients:

  • Oats - 3/4 cup
  • Roasted sooji/ Rava - 1/4 cup
  • Rice flour Or Idly batter - 1/4 cup
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)

Cooking Instructions:

  • Dry roast oats and sooji in a tawa or microwave oven for a couple of mins one after the other. Allow it cool and grind it smoothly along with sooji.
  • In a bowl add the ground powder, rice flour and salt. Add little water at a time and make a batter not too thick or thin.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • Add onion, green chilly and saute for a couple of min.
  • Add the sauted onion to the batter and mix it nicely. (I prefer to add sauted onion instead of raw onion but the original recipe calls for adding raw onion to the batter).
  • Heat dosa tawa and pour a batter with the ladle in the same way as we do dosa.
  • Pour a tsp of oil and cook till it reach golden brown. Turn to the other side and cook for a min.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.
