Ghee Rice/ Jeera rice

Are you bored of eating plain white rice daily. Here comes an alternative. Instead of eating white rice you can flavour them with ghee, cinnamon, cardamom, shah jeera, onions. Serve this ghee rice with egg curry, chicken curry, mutton curry. It really tastes awesome. Try it and leave your comments:



Ingredients:

  • Jeerakashala rice/ basmati rice - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • Shahi Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Bay leaves
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  • cloves - 1
  • cardamom -1
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

  • Soak Jeerakashala rice for 30 mins.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add Bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  • Add shahi jeera and onions.
  • Cook till onion turns golden brown.
  • Strain the water and add the rice. fry in ghee for a couple of mins.
  • Add 2cups of water and salt.
  • Cook for 2 whistles and simmer for 5 mins.
