Cheese Sticks

Cheese Sticks are one of the most favourite things for little ones. 'K' always ask for cheese sticks at restaurants. After a hesitation, i thought of trying at home. He was so curious after i told him that i'm going to make cheese sticks for him. He voluntarily wants to help him and sat near me in the counter. With the help of two little hands here comes cheese sticks:

Ingredients:

  • Cheese Sticks - 10 (Cut into half)
  • Egg - 1
  • Milk - 3 tbsp
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Parsley - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Maida or Tempura Flour
  • Bread crumbs
  • Panko Bread Crumbs (Optional)

Cooking Instructions:

  • Add egg, Milk, pepper, parsley and salt. Mix it gently with fork.
  • Dip the cheese sticks in egg mixture.
  • Now coat in maida. Again dip in egg mixture.
  • Coat the egg mixture in bread crumbs.
  • You can add half of bread crumbs and half of panko bread crumbs (Optional).
  • Rest in freezer for 30 mins which will help them to stay together and will also keep the cheese from melted too quickly once it hits the hot oil.
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Allow it to heat for atleast 4 to 5 mins.
  • Once done add the sticks and remove as soon as the sides are golden brown.
  • Cooking in medium flame make the sticks to melt outside.
  • You can also bake them instead of deep frying. Preheat the oven for 400ºF and bake for 8 mins.
